I noticed users talking about different builds of Windows. For users like me -- not MSDN subscribers -- how can we obtain the latest build of Windows Vista. I believe the Beta 2 build release recently was (atleast the one I have) 5384.

Windows Vista Downloads
The various subscription programs have access to 1 build right now, which BETA 2 build 5384. The public beta 2 is now freely available. You'll find info at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/ The servers are very busy so I suggest you order the cd.

MSDN Subscriber's (like myself) have Access to Other Windows Vista Beta 2 SKU's where as the General Public CPP is only Windows Vista Beta 2 Ultimate Edition, just FYI. We (MSDN Subscriber's) also have Access to Windows Server Code Name Long Horn Beta 2 (in other words: We also have access to the Server Version of Windows Vista) as well, also just FYI.

The only way CPP people can receive upgrades to the Beta is via Windows (now Microsoft) Update.
We WILL get the latest version of Vista when we purchase the RTM sometimes next year.
Otherwise, join the Microsoft Developer Network at the OS level to get the latest bits.
